Yak Fibre
(Currently sold out)

In spring, the yaks will start to shed their fibre undercoat.
Yak fibre is:
- much warmer than wool
- very soft and fine, as much so as cashmere
- tolerated by people with allergies
- doesn't hold odors
- breathable
- maintains insulating qualities even when wet.

Once the shedding starts, it can be plucked or combed out. Raw fibre is then sent to a mill to be spun into yarn.

Yarns from the farm are natural colours and do not have any dyes added. If yarns are blended with other materials, it will be noted for you.
